  1. Věděli jste o povodních?
  2. Kolik lidí zemřelo při povodních?
  3. Zažili jste někdy nějakou přírodní katastrofu?

Tereza Kopecká, 1.B

As you know from our school website, on the day of 13.10.2022, the class of 1B organized a charity event for Pakistan, on which they sold things they had made themselves— whether it was something sweet from the oven, or a set of colorful bracelets.

All the money raised was then sent to people who were victims of the terrible floods. Pulling a little marketing trick, they set up their stalls in the school halls during the longest break of the day— and that is, by all means, always full of students passing through from one class to another. Thanks to that, they were able to raise an incredible amount of money. An entire number of 5337 CZK. We all hope that Pakistan will quickly recover.

During the charity event we asked some students from our school three  questions;

  1. Are you aware of the floods in Pakistan?
  2. How many people died during them?
  3. Have you ever experienced a natural disaster?

And at the end, there are some excerpts from essays written by students of 1B about the charity event. Thanks everybody from this class for the great job!

“… I really like the idea of introducing us to the situation in Pakistan. I did not know it before I learnt about it in our English class. We were happy that we were given space for this topic…” (Markéta)

“…I was thinking about what to do for this charity event for a long time but in the end I chose scrunchies. They were really nice…” (Niki)

“… It happened during the snack break and there were so many people! First thing that got sold out was some food. To be honest, I kept looking at my bookmark to see how many of them were sold…” (Pavlína) “…On Wednesday evening I was finishing my cakes for our charity event. In the beginning it was fun but then I got tired and all I wanted was to go to sleep. Well, I survived and finished the cakes and went to sleep. It was kinda hard to transport them because they were heavy but I did it somehow. And then I was waiting for our time to come…” (Ester)
